My Top 5 Albums of 2010

There have been many great albums that I have listened to and have brought much joy to my eager ears. But these are the 5 that stood out above the rest in my humble opinion.
(In alphabetical order)

Delorean - Subiza
Besides being one of the biggest surprises live on stage this year for me, their album just blew me away with the energy, synthesizers and a feeling that could only come from a beautiful day on the beach.
Recommended Track - Stay Close

LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
With his infectious beats and smart, quick witted lyrics James Murphy gives us an album that we could just push play on and let it ride. My favorite live act this year.
Recommended Track - All I Want

Los Campesinos! - Romance Is Boring
Besides having some of the best cover art, this indie pop band from Wales puts together an album filled with xylophones, horns and da da da's that just keep you hooked from beginning to end.
Recommended Track - In Medias Res

Vampire Weekend - Contra
There's always one every year. That one album you just don't know about but continue to listen to. Eventually it grows on you and you can't get enough of it. That was Contra for me this year. From the kitschy tunes about rice drinks in winter months to the more heartfelt songs closing out the album. This album has a little bit for everyone, making it a staple in my collection.
Recommended Track - White Sky

The Walkmen - Lisbon
Songs from this album always made their way onto a mix. Their CD went into my car and hasn't come out since. It's simple, from the day it was released, I just could not get enough.
Recommended Track - Stranded

I've seen this video about a million times the last couple years and every time I watch it I get the same feeling I did when I saw it the first time!

You're Not Perfect Sport

You're not perfect sport, and let me save you the suspense. This girl you met, she isn't perfect either. But the question is: Whether or not you're perfect for each other. That's the whole deal, that's what intimacy is all about.

Talking To Girls About Duran Duran quote

"Look at the two people dancing on either side of you. If you don't see a girl, you are dancing incorrectly."
